I am 28, currently live in Scotland and spend far too much money on my face and hair!

Being a "ghostie" (pale person), I find it difficult to judge whether make-up will suit my complexion, and often buy popular and beautiful-looking products, only to see them go  lurid on my skin. Trying to emulate looks developed with warmer and darker skin tones in mind is generally a bad idea for ghosties (I'm glad it has only taken me 28 years to learn this... ahem). The results of this trial and error process are published here in the hope that it will inform both fellow ghosties, and will also mildly amuse and entertain those with a general lust for make up.

My skin care reviews are unapologetically geared towards products for acne-prone, dehydrated, troublesome skin because that is what I'm dealing with right now on my own misbehaving face. The hair posts review products for fine, dry, damaged hair (hello sulphate-free shampoo!) and they also chart my quest for what has turned out to be the most elusive hair colour to achieve unnaturally - a pale reddish copper gold.
